University Use

The DMC Classroom is free for all UW-Madison Faculty, Staff, Researchers, and Graduate Students working on university-related projects.

The DMC Classroom is now actually two rooms. In B1144A we have 30 student computer stations. In B1144B we have 10 student computer stations with room for two at each station. All computers run both Microsoft Windows and Mac OSX. Each computer has built-in video cameras and microphones. Each room has a dedicated instructor station with its own computer, a document camera (in B1144A), DVD Player, sound system, and connections for your personal laptop.

With all this hardware you also get access to all current multimedia and productivity software such as Final Cut Pro; iMovie; Sony Vegas Video; Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign; and Microsoft Office. If we do not have the software you need we will work with you to get it on our systems. NOTE: WE NEED A MINIMUM NOTICE OF 10 BUSINESS DAYS TO EVALUATE YOUR SOFTWARE REQUEST.

Remember, the DMC Classroom is free for UW-Madison-related projects. We take reservations for semester long classes and/or one-time use. We also take reservations for administrative training, workshops, seminars and more. Just ask and we will see if we can accommodate your needs.

To request a reservation, fill out the DMC Classroom Request Form. Your reservation request will go to a DMC manager who will determine availability and contact you.

Non-University Use

The classroom is available for half-day ($275), full-day ($485) or hourly ($82) rentals for non university-related use.

Stated rates are for Wisconsin government and non-profit groups. For non-state or non-UW clients a 21% surcharge and tax apply (tax exempt companies do not pay tax). Rates do not include custom software installations or workstation customization which cost $64 per hour of labor.

To make rental arrangements or to inquire about a private rental, call the facility manager, Josh Harder, at (608) 263-4501 or email him at jmharder@doit.wisc.edu.
